SARAH ON THE ISSUES

  • SMALL BUSINESS

As a small business owner and operator, I see every day how much legislation really does affect our businesses. It could be great or detrimental as we saw with the Covid pandemic. Most laws do not universally help. There is always a cost to someone's business and we need to be mindful of our role in the community and make any legislation passed is in the best interest of our neighborhoods. I am a restaurant person and want to see to it that everyone eats, both metaphorically and literally.

  • EDUCATION CHOICE

Every student deserves a world class education and in an area this wealthy, we need to ensure that EVERY child gets that chance. We need to help schools that are falling behind while allowing each family to make decisions about the best school for their child. I support the current proposed legislation of education success accounts. Let's allow families to decide what is right for their students and back it up with the funds necessary to do so.

  • ECONOMY

Families and businesses need decisive and transparent leadership as our economy struggles with runaway inflation and a cost of living that is unsustainable for so many families in Northern Virginia. Raising pay forces businesses to raise costs. That can’t be the solution to helping families put food on the table. Innovative bills, such as ending taxes on not just groceries but on food would help our neighbors to put food on the table.

  • NEW IDEAS

We have had the same representation for a decade. It is time to bring new ideas to the table and I am the person to do that. I hear everyone's "kitchen table" issues in the restaurant. I am very accessible with not only my very public job, but all of the groups I am in. It gives me the benefit of your knowledge to talk about what your needs are. I am not tied to any political party and have the advantage of getting to work with both sides to simply do what is best for our home here in District 13.
